June in London and not exactly the warm summer evenings we look forward to at this time of year. Despite this Immie and I ventured to Peckham to discover the Rooftop Film Club situated on the roof of the Bussey Building in Rye Lane South East London. What a great concept. The ground was carpeted with astro turf immediately evoking a rooftop garden idea and the very smart black deckchairs all neatly laid out provided symmetry and directed you towards the back of the roof where there was a rustic decked area with bar and Photo Booth for entertainment while we all waited for the sun to set so that we might sit in darkness and enjoy the movie. We devoured a few cocktails including a delicious nespresso coffee martini and then settled into our seats. We were provided with warmed blankets a carton of popcorn and a hot coffee to sample the newest nespresso envivo lungo a delicious warming addition. It was a lovely treat to spend the evening with my daughter although we did discuss how this would be a perfect and original date venue! The Nespresso Club. It is worth noting. that there are also other Rooftop Film Club venues in London at Roof East Stratford, Queen of Hoxton Shoreditch,Kensington Roof Gardens and Tobacco Dock Shadwell. I suspect each with a slightly different vibe. There is some food also available and at the Bussey Building this was provided by Forzawin and was a menu of street food cooked over flaming wood.
